IMF President’s Gold Medal

The Indian Mountaineering Foundation, the central organisation for mountaineering in India support many activities. They award the prestigious Gold Medal to mountaineers who have done much in the Himalaya. It is an honour to receive the President’s (IMF) Medal. Harish was awarded the Medal in 1996 in company of a few leading mountaineers in 1996. The ceremony was held at the IMF HQ and President of the IMF Mr. H C Sarin was present with Central Government Minister Mr Arjun Singh who presented the medal. Dorjee Lhatoo, a long standing friend, was one of the recipient of the Gold Medal along with Harish.
